Odorant Price Forecast - 2021-2022
Tansley Associates Environmental Sciences Inc. (TAES) would like to provide you with information that will allow you to better forecast future odorant prices in North America.
TAES is currently aware of inflationary pressures throughout the world and within the chemical industry as a result of increased costs for raw materials, labor, transportation and energy. TAES anticipates that these inflationary pressures will result in price increases throughout the chemical industry, including the price of odorant.
One competitor has already announced rate increases for odorant of 8% effective February 1st, 2021 and an additional 15% effective April 1, 2021.
In spite of receiving our own price increase, to date, TAES has stood firm on our prices for our customers, however we believe that it is likely inevitable that we will also be forced to raise prices.
As one of the largest odorant distributors in North America, TAES will be using our bulk purchasing power and our unique delivery systems to strive to maintain our cost competitive advantage to supply our customers with the highest quality odorant at the most competitive prices.
When budgeting for 2022 and beyond, Tansley recommends that you consider an odorant price increase as part of your planning. While every customer has different circumstances and agreements, planning for a 5-10% increase in the price of odorant would be a good place to start.
Tansley will provide more information to our clients on an individual basis in the coming months.
